I took the “Building Your Art Web Presence” Workshop.  I wish I were good at words so that I could put my statement in terms that would help others understand the importance of going to a workshop that will help you familiarize yourself with the computer, organize your work and not be afraid to step out and set goals for yourself you would otherwise be afraid to tackle.  The workshop answered questions that I had regarding getting my work seen by others on the internet.  Everything was explained in terms that I could understand.  I am a hands-on person and I was sent home with a booklet and a cd that went over step-by-step what I had learned in the workshop.  I have been working on my Facebook, I have also been setting up a blog.  From beginning to end it was an enjoyable experience and continues to be as I continue to put to use all the information that I acquired.  I recommend this workshop for anyone and am planning on going to other workshops to keep informed on what is going on in the internet world.  I am 69 years old and find that I am not too old to learn when a workshop is made so that it is understandable for any age.     www.PatriciaBombach.com

I’ve enjoyed and appreciated the depth and clarity of the Web Presence workshops.  As a novice in the web world, I found the information very useful to help me navigate this river of information.  I’ve already taken advantage of segments on making a business card, forming an “Art Stuff” folder, and resizing photo images.  These skills are only a drop in the bucket of useful tips provided in the workshops and the accompanying manuals.  I plan to go through the manuals and CDs step by step to learn more about digital cameras, photo editing software, and how to join free artists websites.  Although I already have my own web site , I may now add a blog to share ongoing developments in my art work.     www.IlonaBrustad.com

From my experience in attending Dee’s website workshop, I learned the importance of having a website, and the basics of getting started.  She is an expert in an area where it is difficult to find accessible experts–that is websites for artists.  The sites involve much more complicated skills because of the complicated nature and volume of images.  Dee also supplies lots of back up materials that go home with the workshop attendee, and, most importantly has been available for questions after the fact.  As a speaker, she is easy going and personable, so that sitting in on her workshops is a delight.  www.PattiCasteel.com

Dee helped me to make sense of Facebook and its intricacies and how I can utilize it to market my work and myself yet not let it become a huge time sucker.  There was so much information in the workshop that it could have had a part 2 added. I have linked my web site, an art exhibition, and a video of my work. I also put a “Share on Facebook” link on my web site and have built up my group of “friends” by joining groups that related to my art work. I am in the process of creatiing my Fan Page together and hope to have it up soon!    www.CynthiaDavis.com

The workshop on Dee’s art web presence was wonderful.  My first step has been to make a blog with my work on that and it has made a huge difference in my sense of myself as a working artist, able to share my work easily with others.  Dee’s follow-up and availability to answer questions has been beyond expectations.  Her ability to “be where the client is” and go from there is stellar; sometimes consultants make me feel overwhelmed and like the material is too beyond me, but she seems to know exactly where I might be understanding or MIS-understanding something and her answers to questions get to that fundamental place that helps learning.  She LOVES teaching, it is clear and is incredibly knowledgeable.           www.PamHoffer.blogspot.com

I would highly recommend your class to any artist who is interested in setting up their own website.  Your instructions were clear and concise and took away a lot of the trepidation I usually feel when dealing with any sort of technology.  Building a website is one of my goals for 2010!     www.KathleenMKelley.com/

I have taken several classes given by Dee Overly on “Your Art Web Presence” and it has changed my whole perspective on how to market and get my work into the public.  Her seminars were packed with easy to follow, step by step instruction on how to use Facebook and Twitter to promote yourself and artwork on the web.  I was able to get things going quickly with amazing results.  Part one of the Website workshop explained the method for preparing your artwork for the web and many resources for free listings.  I am anxious to take part 2 in November to put everything together and actually build my own website.  I feel I can do this now because Dee’s workshops provide a streamlined, methodical, easy way to take it step by step.  And, if I have a question later on, the written material provided enables me to complete the task.      www.LilyLafollette.blogspot.com

The workshop that Dee Overly presented on ‘Facebook and Artists, building Art Web Presence’ gave me the know-how and inspiration to make up a Fan Page on Facebook.  Her presentation was lively and easily understood.  The valuable instruction booklet that Dee gave us will assist me in really tuning up my first attempts at developing my Fan page even more.  Dee really  knows how to use the tools that are available to promote your art on the web.              Toni Stevenson Website

I took Dee Overly’s “Building Your Art Web Presence” earlier this year.  Finally I found the kind of instruction that cracked the code for me.  I had been taking classes and attending workshops at the community college and continuing education through Rec Ed for several years but the instruction left me with more questions than answers.  Little of it seemed to be applicable to me as an artist switching from slides to digital images.  Neither did it do much to advance my knowledge of how to utilize the web for my purposes. The beauty of Dee’s workshops is that she has all the tech savvy and the ability to communicate that knowledge to those of us who aren’t techies.  In fact, as an artist herself, she truly speaks to artists in very clear, down to earth language.  I don’t know if it’s the left brain- right brain argument, but for the first time I started looking at my computer as a creative tool. I went home from the workshop and set up a blog on Blogspot with ease.  I was able to survey their templates and decide how I could use them to implement my ideas.  I have the confidence that I can pursue new projects.  There’s been no looking back.       www.RosieSunday.blogspot.com

I found the workshop “Your Art Web Presence” to be very helpful.  I appreciated specifics on building sites available with templates, hosting sites and the suggestions on things to do not do when building a site. I also found the information on photographing work AND how to file the images on my computer very helpful. I’ve been using Dee’s 3 file system and have found it a great way to organize my images.  I also found it helpful to go to the workshop with someone and to work on setting up the website together – each of us caught different points and together put together a site I’m happy with. I have limited computer skills, but I really appreciate having access to my own site.  In the past it was frustrating depending on others to update my site.    www.CarolynWeins.com

Dee’s workshops are organized, information is clearly presented, she anticipates the attendees questions and best of all, she is truly available for follow-up.  I now have more confidence in my web presence capabilities.  Dee encouraged me as I set up my blog.  My goal, with Dee’s help, is to manage my own website.    www.JanWiedmayer.com  and  www.JanWiedmayer.blogspot.com
