Why Build a Facebook Fan Page?
WFacebook is best known as a place to find and connect with friends. It’s also used for playing games and doing other fun silly things. But there is another way that you can use this website. Facebook is great for promoting yourself, your hobby, your art, your band or your business.
You already have a “personal profile” on Facebook. This is where you have been doing all of your friend-connecting. To promote the artist side of your life you are going to want a “professional profile” also known as a fan page. (On your personal profile you have friends; on your professional page you have fans.)

So…… why have a second page to have to build and maintain? Why not just put art images in the photos tab of the personal profile? Well, you can do that.
The key word here is professional. It’s a page that will be handled more professionally and it will be dedicated to just one concept, your art. Plus, here are a few items that special to only the Fan Pages:
- Fan Pages are indexed by Google
- You can have an unlimited number of fans (Profiles and Groups both have limits)
- Each Tab has its own unique URL. You can direct people to a specific Tab
- You can customize your Fan Pages ( I love this one)
